This is a bug in the soundmax driver. You need to search around for driver version 5.12:1.5240 or later. Hint: you might look up some of my old posts, What version of the driver are you using? I solved this on my Dell GX150, by installing the proper SoundMAX driver. The Dell (and many other motherboards) uses a AC97 sound chip, What You then need to do is to install the SoundMAX drivers from Analog Devices. The CWMM classes work fine with soundmax drivers. I once had installed them together with those for the soundblaster live and *both* soundcards made noise. I reverted later to soundblaster only cause the sound quality of the AD1980A is rather poor and I have no real need for two soundcards in one system Klaus.
